- 1884-1885 Studies at Cowles Art School, Boston with plein air painters Robert Vonnoh and Dennis Miller Bunker.

- 1887-1889 Stays in Paris with her husband Professor Thomas Sergeant Perry, and their three children. Studies at the Académie Colarossi and the Académie Julian.

- 1888 Begins a long friendship with Claude Monet.

- 1889 Exhibits at bthe Salon for the first time.

- 1889-1899 Spending summers in Giverny with his family, first at the Hôtel Baudy, then in rented houses, one of them next door to Monet’s House. Accepted in the Monet family circle and becomes friends with many painters of the colony. Lives mainly in Boston where, by organizing exhibitions, she promoted the works of the Giverny painters and Monet.

- 1898-1901 Lives in Tokyo with her husband where he teaches English literature.

- 1905-1909 Returns to Giverny every summer. Lilla Cabot Perry also published for books of poems.
